HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF THE SCHOOL

Saint Louis Anne Colleges, formerly Saint Louis Anne Academy, was established on June 1986 by the late Engr. Leonilo A. Marcos, Sr. and his wife, Consolacion P. Marcos, who are committed to provide education to the youth of San Pedro, Laguna and its neighboring towns.  It is situated in the heart of Elvinda Village, San Pedro Laguna. It has 76 classrooms, including workshops and laboratory facilities. Its college campus is located at the National Hi-Way, Landayan, San Pedro, Laguna. It has a branch in Bangad, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija; the Saint Louis Anne Colleges Montessori School.

It was first decided by the couple to operate the nursery, kindergarten, and elementary curricula. When the first batch of Grade Six graduated, the parents requested the couple to operate the highschool department. Because of the insistent request of parents, Mr & Mrs. Marcos Sr. filed a request with the Department of Education , Culture and Sports to operate the first to fourth year of the secondary education curricula which was eventually granted government permit and recognition after three years.

In 1989, another request was filed with the DECS to operate the two-year Certificate of Technology with areas of specialization in Electronics and Electrical Technology, which was granted government permit in the following year, 1990.

In 1990, another government permit to operate the two-year Certificate of Computer Technology and Bachelor in Industrial Technology (BIT) was granted.
The school’s enrolment was fast increasing and more courses were offered for School Year 1990-1991, the total enrolment of the school was 3,456, composing of the pre-elementary, elementary, secondary (day & evening), technical-vocational, and tertiary levels.

The School Year 1993-1994, SLAC  was granted government permit to operate more degree course such as Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (BSPT), Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology (BSMT).  Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED), and Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED).

Mr. and Mrs. Marcos also envisioned to spread their commitment to provide quality education not only in San Pedro, Laguna but also in other provinces and cities. In spite of the untimely loss of Mr. Marcos Sr., his wife exerted all her efforts to realize the vision. It was June of 1997 when the vision came out into reality – the foundation of Saint Louis Anne Montessori School of Cabanatuan City at Bangad, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.

It was first decided by the founder to have Saint Louis Anne Colleges and Montessori School as the name of the institution. Since the school is not yet capable to offer programs for the tertiary level, the name Saint Louis Anne Montessori School was used to acquiew government permit and the recognition to operate the pre-elementary, elementary, and secondary curricula. It was September of 1998 when the DECS released the school’s recognition.

Saint Louis Anne Montessori School is situated in Bangad, Cabanatuan City, a place where traffic nd pollution are less since it is located 10 minutes away from the city proper. The school also has a well-structured building and a secured campus, which happen to be the school’s assets that have encouraged more parents and students to choose SLAMS for their educational endeavour.
